An exceptional opportunity is now available for a Bioinformatician / Software Developer within a prestigious scientific software house in Cambridgeshire.
This prominent biotech is a clear leader within the drug discovery industry, making ground breaking advancements in human genetics research and development. Using your programming expertise, the bioinformatics software developer will be responsible for pushing forward the development of complex Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), which support multidisciplinary scientists on their experiments.
This role is perfect for a Java Guru who has a solid grounding in Ruby, Perl & Python. To succeed in this role, he/she will be confident in designing and developing web based software systems. Exceptional Javascript, HTML, CSS and AJAX skills are to be expected along with a good working knowledge of relational databases.
Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will be educated to at least degree level (PhD Preferred) in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or related discipline. You will have proven knowledge in Java and Web technologies and proficient in Object Oriented programming. The software developer will have significant exposure to backend development, along with the ability to apply themselves to both UI design and database optimisation. Previous commercial experience within a biotechnology, pharmaceutical or university supporting computational biology projects would be highly advantageous.
