Job Description
The Neurogenetics Unit in the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Human Genetic Research (CHGR) invites applications for a full-time Bioinformatics / Computational Genetics position to design analyses examining the genomics of neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders in the lab of Dr. James Gusella, Director of the CHGR.
A highly motivated individual with a background in bioinformatics or computer science is sought to join an existing genomics team to perform computational analysis of a variety of genomics datasets. The candidate will conduct multi-disciplinary collaborative research utilizing the most recent advancements in the fields of genetics and genomics. The candidate will interact directly with investigators in the CHGR, Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute to perform analyses using an established pipeline. This position is ideal for candidates interested in the interface between computational science and medicine, offering the opportunity to interact with leaders in both fields in a uniquely dynamic environment with substantial opportunity for career development and growth.
Qualifications: Outstanding candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or Computational Genetics. Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and faculty are essential. Recent graduates and postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to apply.
