Post-doctoral Opportunity in Synthetic Biology
Designer RNA-binding Proteins
We are seeking applicants with a strong background in molecular biology and transgenic mice to fill a postdoctoral position in Perth at the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR), The University of Western Australia. Research is focused on using synthetic biology approaches to developing designer RNA-binding proteins as new tools to manipulate gene expression in mammalian systems. Central is the use of protein engineering, transgenic mice, and transcriptomic technologies.
Expertise with molecular biology and transgenic mice are essential. Experience with protein purification, RNA biology, and basic bioinformatics are highly desirable.

The starting salary is AUS$81,194 p.a. Candidates must have completed a PhD in Biochemistry or a related discipline and have a strong publication record.
