Postdoctoral position is available in The Center for Systems Biology, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, in the group of Dr. Vladimir Belyi. The group is interested in multiple aspects of computational biology, applying quantitative analysis and statistical methods to biological and cancer research. Some active projects include genomics of pathogens, statistical inference from next generation sequencing data, datamining of cancer genomes, and deciphering of DNA dark matter.
Successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as physics, mathematics, bioinformatics, computer science, or related. Working knowledge of at least one computing language, such as C/C++, Python, or Java is highly desired. Familiarity with biological datasets, biological problems, and data analysis packages is preferred; however, strong interest and motivation to do biological and cancer research are more important.
Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey is located in an urban environment in downtown New Brunswick, with easy access to Manhattan, Princeton, and all Rutgers campuses.
Interested candidates should send a CV and a brief description of past research and future interests, along with names of three references, to Vladimir A. Belyi at vlad.belyi@rutgers.edu. Review of applications will begin in mid July and continue until position is filled.
