Description
· Contribute to the Discovery projects portfolio with homology modeling and in silicomutagenesis of antibodies and antigens to support and guide the engineering of biotherapeutic candidates. Actively contribute new ideas for evolving our antibody discovery and engineering programs to the next level, and execute plans to realize these ideas. Suggest and implement new computational design approaches to antibody engineering to solve problems in collaboration with bench scientists.
· Assist in writing and maintaining web based bioinformatics tools, and provide support and training in bioinformatics.
· Provide structural analysis of target antigens to assist project teams in evaluating new targets
· Collaborate with informatics department to evaluate and provide software solutions to improve efficiency and alleviate analysis bottlenecks in drug discovery pipeline.
Qualifications
· Ph.D. in molecular modeling of proteins
· Demonstrated experience with homology modeling and structure prediction, as well as computational protein design
· Experience modeling antibodies or antibody like molecules (nanobodies, darpins, …)
· Experience with antibody-antigen docking and affinity prediction
· Familiarity with modeling tools (ROSETTA, MOE, Bioluminate…)
· Previous experience collaborating with bench scientists for protein engineering, especially collaborations involving display technologies, an asset
· Bioinformatics experience in analysis of protein sequences
· Prediction of biophysical properties of proteins and antibodies
· Demonstrated programming experience (C++, or other object oriented language; scripting languages, website design/maintenance)
· Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MySQL,…)
· Present modeling and structural analyses in context of larger organizational goals to own department and to project teams, with clear and specific modeling-based suggestions to improve the outcome of projects.
· Autonomously write study reports and scientific papers that require minimal revisions
· Read and critically evaluate the literature in specialized scientific field, and share relevant topics with team.
· Search for expertise relevant to scientific area available both inside and outside the company
· Work effectively with people in other laboratories and across projects as required.
· Organize and manage own time efficiently to meet agreed timelines and plan own activities to be submitted to management.
