We are a specialized recruiting firm looking for a Statistician Software Engineer for our Bay Area biotechnology client. This company is a successful start-up with strong financial backing and a proven leadership team. They are seeking a statistician/software developer who is skilled in both computational and scientific disciplines. This position will contribute to the development of software tools to support production operations.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years experience in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Genetics, or related fields. Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred.
- Excellent statistical and mathematical skills
- Experience developing with statistical software (R, S-plus or SAS)
- Experience developing in C++/C# and/or Java in a Windows environment preferred
- Experience analyzing complex data sets
- Experience with genetic and next-generation sequencing data preferred
