The Genome Research Computing section of the Research Computing Centre was awarded two NeCTAR grants to develop a Genomics Virtual Laboratory (GVL) in collaboration with partners around Australia. The GVL will be developed and operated by the Genome Informatics Network (GIN) - the organisational umbrella within the newly formed Australian Bioinformatics Network endorsed by CSIRO, BPA and EMBL Australia. Members include the Universities of Queensland, Melbourne, Sydney, Western Australia and Monash University; CSIRO, and other universities and research institutes, representing thousands of researchers.
The position provides project management for the Genomics Virtual Laboratory. The position will lead a team of staff across the GVL to deliver the project outcomes including the contract management, reporting, schedule, and communications.
The person
The applicant should have well developed interpersonal skills (including written and verbal communication) and the ability to liaise with staff and external agencies at all levels. He/she will also need experience in the management of large projects with multiple stakeholders. The applicant should also be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain a current working knowledge of relevant emerging technologies, methodologies and best practices.
Remuneration
This is a part-time, fixed term appointment at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $82,451.51 - $92,581.91 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9% (total package will be in the range $89,872.15 - $100,914.28 p.a.).
