Research Associate x 2 (Fixed Term) : Cambridge, United Kingdom
Salary: £27,854-£36,298 pa
The labs of Drs James Brenton, Florian Markowetz and Nitzan Rosenfeld at the CRUK Cambridge Institute at the University of Cambridge are looking for a computational biology postdoc and a genomics post doc to work on a joint project investigating genetic heterogeneity and clonal evolution in high grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC).
The project will determine the mutational profile of recurrent HGSOC by carrying out exome and TAm-Seq sequencing of biopsies of relapsed disease for comparison with samples from the original cancer tissue. In parallel we will test if mutations common in relapsed HGSOC can be detected noninvasively using circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) assays.
The bioinformatics postdoc will work with statistical and evolutionary methods (in the Markowetz lab) on DNA and mRNA sequencing data from ovarian cancer biopsies and link them to clinical variables. The genomics postdoc will develop improved methods for candidate gene sequencing and rearrangements in ctDNA and cancer tissues.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
