- Job Description
- Refine and maintain a software package for the simulation of microbial communities (a virtual Petri dish). Create and maintain a database to manage data and models generated in the lab. Maintain the website for the lab, providing centralized access to our research tools. Write client side scripts for web application. Adapt programs for multiple platforms. Create software implementations of new and existing algorithms. Provide technical support to users of programs created by the lab. Research, propose, and deploy existing technologies for use in the lab. This position is grant funded.
- Required Skills
- Requires: B.A./B.S. in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, strong knowledge of Java and Matlab, the ability to work in Linux and Windows operating systems, database and website design and management, and three to five years of experience, preferably in software engineering or scientific computing. Knowledge of Biophysics or Bioengineering would also be an advantage.
