I am seeking candidates who possess a PhD in a life science or bioinformatics with roughly two years of work experience (postdoc or otherwise) to help support research in some of the most interest areas of science. My client is currently hiring four scientific data managers with the following skill-sets to work on various projects:
- Experience with LINUX/UNIX and scripting in that OS.
- Experience working with automatic data processing pipelines.
- Familiarity with high performance computing, ideally Sun Grid Engine (SGE).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience moving large amounts of quantitative data reliably and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience with SQL.
- Broad knowledge of biology especially genetics, cell biology, and biochemistry, and associated databases, such as dbSNP and GenBank.
- Experience with XML/XSLT.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript and related web based tools.
