Japan Bioinformatics Announces the Release of their Simbiot® Time Course Analysis ‘How-To’ Guide

The increased efficiency and reduced per-read cost of next generation sequencing (NGS) devices has opened new and exciting opportunities for data analysis. Rather than using a small number of samples, sometimes without replicates, researchers can now effectively compare expression profiles of a large number of samples, complete with replicates.

TOKYO, Japan – February 19, 2013 – Japan Bioinformatics, today announced the release of their Simbiot® Time Course Analysis ‘How-To’ Guide.
While many effective and easy-to-use algorithms for gene expression analysis have been developed for handling microarray data, the process is not trivial and requires significant bioinformatics and IT expertise. The Simbiot® Time Course Analysis ‘How-To’ provides a step-by-step guide for handling data management and processing tools that can effectively transform the NGS data into a format that can be analyzed using more sophisticated algorithms.
The Simbiot® Time Course Analysis ‘How-To’ Guide uses a set of 12 NGS samples derived from the first 24 hours of Drosophila embryonic development to demonstrate an expression analysis method with peer-reviewed statistical algorithms. This approach offers a standardized analysis pipeline for expression data generated by high-speed sequencing technologies.
About Japan Bioinformatics
Japan Bioinformatics KK is a Tokyo-based biotechnology company specializing in software development, as well as bioinformatics and information technology services to the life science community, including biotechnology, academia, research, pharmaceutical and bio-devices organizations.
They company's main product, Simbiot®, is a system for management and analysis of biological data. The application is available in a single-user, as well as a private server configuration that easily integrates into the client’s environment, including laboratory information management systems (LIMS), as well as custom and proprietary data formats, analytics and annotations. The system combines reliable data management, distribution, collaboration and analysis tools that support commercial and proprietary data formats, with specific focus on next generation sequencing (NGS) data.
In addition to software products, Japan Bioinformatics offers data analysis, bioinformatics and software development services. Learn more at http://www.japanbioinformatics.com.
