The University of Wisconsin Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) biomedical informatics core and the ICTR Research Learning Series are co-sponsoring two information sessions about the biomedical informatics resources available for clinical and translational research at UW Madison.

Registration is not required.

Spread out over two days, the sessions will focus on data acquisition, security and storage (February 28), and data analysis tools and interpretation (March 1). The sessions will highlight services and case studies in the areas of:
  • Information technologies
  • Bioinformatics
  • Clinical health informatics
  • Electronic data warehouses
  • Innovative computing technologies
  • Imaging informatics
Each two-hour presentation will be moderated by Umberto Tachinardi, MD, MSc, director of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research biomedical informatics core.

Tachinardi also holds the appointment as UW Health chief research information officer, a collaborative effort among UW Hospital and Clinics, the UW Medical Foundation, and the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, in which he is the associate dean for informatics.
