Bioinformatics 2013', Barcelona, Spain

[Date: 2012-10-30]
The Fourth International Conference on Bioinformatics Models, Methods and Algorithms (Bioinformatics 2013) will take place from 11 to 14 February 2013 in Barcelona, Spain.
Bioinformatics entails the creation and advancement of databases, algorithms, computational and statistical techniques and theory to solve formal and practical problems arising from the management and analysis of biological data. Over the past few decades, rapid developments in genomics and information technologies have combined to produce a tremendous amount of information related to molecular biology. Common activities in bioinformatics include the mapping and analysis of DNA and protein sequences, aligning different DNA and protein sequences to compare them, and creating and viewing 3-D models of protein structures.

The conference will bring together researchers and other stakeholders to discuss the application of computational systems and information technologies to the field of molecular biology, including for example the use of statistics and algorithms to better understand biological processes and systems, with a focus on new developments in genome bioinformatics and computational biology.
