Quantitative Geneticist - Bioinformatics - Switzerland

A global biopharmaceutical giant has a unique opening for a Quantitative Geneticist to join their Bioinformatics & Data Analysis division in Switzerland. 

Working alongside a team of computational biologists, biometricians and informatics specialists, you will be responsible for applying your statistical know-how to support some of Europe's leading scientists in ground-breaking biomarker discovery initiatives. 

This role is perfect for a Quantitative Geneticist who flourishes in a fast-paced environment; juggling multiple projects at one time; whilst providing consultancy services to major clients within the scientific community. To succeed in this post, you must be passionate about problem solving and innovation, enjoy being challenged and have clear background in NGS data analysis. 

Requirements: 

The ideal applicant will be educated to a PhD level in statistical genetics or mathematical discipline, with a solid grounding in R/Bioconductor, S-Plus or SAS. You will possess in-depth knowledge of statistical genetics covering areas such as designing experiments, statistical analysis plans, exploratory data analysis and statistical modelling. 

It is essential that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills and confident in your ability to project manage and liaise with clients across multi-disciplinary areas. The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to non-statisticians, both orally and in writing is a definite must!
