Job Description
The Bioinformatics Team in San Diego is looking for a full-time Intern to provide bioinformatics support for a variety of genetic analysis projects. The Intern will be responsible for conducting large dataset manipulations, analysis and QC methods, as well as scripting, programming, and testing. Additionally, the Intern will conduct DNA sequence analyses. The position will be approximately 3 months.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Computational Biology, or similar field required. Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Mathematics required
  • Previous working and problem solving experience in bioinformatics and computational biology
  • Previous programming experience with languages such as  Java or  C++ and  scripting languages such as R and/or Perl required
  • Proficiency with the fundamentals of statistics (e.g. knowledge of Distributions, Normalization, error estimation and statistical tests )
  • Clear understanding of Next-Generation sequencing technology and its applications (experience with NGS data analyses is preferred)
